Ryder Cup 2010 Recap – USA Closes Hard, but Team Monty Holds

Oct 04 2010 in Golf

Golf Betting

Waking up after 2 hours sleep was damn well worth it for the Ryder Cup 2010 finals. The USA was down by 3 booming into the last day of 12 characteristic matches in the Ryder Cup.

This would be the second largest comeback in Ryder Cup history, to the 1999 USA triumph when Justin Leonard drained that 45-footer pro the win.

On this day in Europe, it was not meant to be for the Americans. The Europeans gave up a lot that final day, but they weren’t going to allow the Allied States to keep the Ryder Cup trophy for two more years.

This European team’s captain Colin Montgomerie is the key to this win. He is Mr. Ryder Cup, and has never lost a singles tourney here. He knows what it takes to win in this tournament.

Corey Pavin is a really nice guy, but his attitude of “they’re professionals they know what to do” when asked what he would do to assembly the team is unprejudiced not bloodthirsty enough for this shark-fest.

The USA unite has to be complimented on their gumption. The Europeans went 6-0 in wins in the afternoon matches Sunday. The team had some unbelievable playing and desire in these final matches for a team that seemed to have no vive to win Ryder Cup 2010.

Tiger Woods of old came back from 2 down after 5 and went on a devil like we remember going birdie-birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie from holes 9-13. He closed out identical of the Molinari brothers 4 up with 3 holes left (4&3).

Phil Mickelson even won his settled match scoring his only aim in this year’s Ryder Cup 2010. He shot lights out from the first tee going 4 up after 4 and closing out Peter Hanson 4&4. Too Inconsiderable, Too Late.

That PGA rookie Rickie Fowler rocked in the alternative to last society winning the last 3 holes to get a much needed half point. This made it tenable for Hunter Mahan to only need a tie instead of a win fitting for the USA to keep the Ryder Cup at home.

Mahan was 1 down on the 16th hole when Rookie Rickie finished. Unfortunately, Graeme McDowell birdied the 16th hole, and went into the 17th hole needing to win the final 2 holes to tie the match and for the USA to win.

On the Bad 3 17th shack, McDowell build it on the right fringe, and Hunter left his ball short of the rural. Mahan choked and chunked his chip basically giving McDowell and the Europeans the bout and Ryder Cup 2010 win.

I can’t blame too much on Huntsman Mahan. That was extreme pressure on that last hole, but that’s why the Captain put him there. He thought he could cope with anything and would close hard.

If Phil would’ve shown up earlier and Furyk would’ve stayed home, that would enjoy been enough for the win.

It was a great match to watch, but as an American it left something lacking. That would be a Ryder Cup 2010 United States win.

To Win Ryder Cup

Europe -170
USA +160
Tie +1000

* If you wanted to look at this series over the last dozen meetings (i.e., since 1985), Europe, which is at -170 in Ryder Cup betting for this particular match, is winning 7-4-1. They have had a 163-131 edge in terms of matches won coming into the 2010 Cup.

* The best record any USA player has had in the Ryder Cup belongs to Jimmy Demarest, who won all six of his matches between 1947, 1949 and 1951. The most successful duo in Ryder Cup account has been Arnold Palmer and Gardner Dickinson, who won all five of their matches together.

* In four-ball matches, the European team (which was an even money Ryder Cup flutter to have an touchy in four-balls after the first day) is ahead 57.5 to 38.5 since the 1985 competition. The USA has a slight sharpness in singles matches, taking 74 of them to 70 notwithstanding Europe. However, the Europeans have a 28-20 points lead in singles matches over the last four years.

* Paul Casey scored the model hole-in-one for the European team in Ryder Cup competition, doing that in 2006. But Casey, who is the seventh-ranked player in the wonderful, was left off the yoke by captain Colin Montgomerie!

* When you look at how this event has played out over all all at once, the U.S. is is up by a 476-368 space in points. The biggest crawl the Americans have had is in singles, where they have outscored the contestant (whether it’s the British/Irish or European team) by 244.5 to 177.5.

* The largest margin of victory the United States has by any chance had in the Ryder Cup has been 15 points, which was achieved in 1967. No greater than four times has the USA won at near ten points or more. So if you were looking to collect on 100/1 in, say, a 19-9 win in the Ryder Cup betting props, don’t hold your startle.

* Interestingly plenty, widespread any series (four-balls, foursomes, singles) is very unusual. The model time that happened was in 1989, when Europe won the first four-ball series over the USA.

* Rookies have taken their lumps in Ryder Cup competition in recent years. In the mould dozen events (since ’85), they include won 45.6% of their won-lost decisions (not including halves, which constitute 23 matches during that time). In the Ryder Cup betting odds, Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar were both +200 to be the top American rookie, while Rory McIlroy was +200 to be the a-one European rookie.

Golf Odds on European Ryder Cup Team Make Them an Overlay

Oct 02 2010 in Golf

Golf Betting

The golf odds on the U.S. Ryder Cup Group to win 2010 Ryder Cup make them an overlay in the sportsbook.

Yes, I know that they’re a noteworthy -160 favorite to put a mould down on the U.S. Team, but at -160, they have to be considered close to a lock.

There are just too many factors anyway the U.S. Team for me to even consider backing red, white and titillating in the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Let’s possession a look at both teams and then analyze the match.

2010 Ryder Cup

U.S. Team +170 – - The reason for the golf odds makers showing the U.S. Team regular an faintest of respect is because of Phil Mickelson, brand-new FedEx Cup winner Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker. Those 3 guys are all ranked in the Top 10 World Golf Rankings with Lefty still listed at #2 in the rankings. Stricker is ranked #4 and Furyk is ranked #5.

Of direction, as most golf handicappers comprehend, the World Golf Rankings are stupidly, ridiculously, dumb. How does Tiger, who has played in only 12 tournaments this season, and has scored a Top 10 in only 2 of those 12 tournaments, stilly maintain the #1 ranking? Pair Captain Corey Pavin is thinking about leaving El Tigre on the bench.

I’m not sure if that would be a good or bad move considering that save for Lefty, Strick, Impetuosity and possibly Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar, there isn’t another instrumentalist on this team that would be favored in a match over almost every single player on the European Team at a European venue. This team is a much, much bigger underdog than the +170 golf odds indicate.

European Team -160 – - Not only does the European Team boast the likes of #3 in the world ranked golfer Lee Westwood, but it also boasts the 2010 U.S. Open conqueror Graeme McDowell and the 2010 PGA Championship winner Martin Kaymer. Then there’s the 2nd apartment Tour Champions’ finisher Luke Donald, and the young golf sensation Rory McIlroy.

The Euros secure an advantage in this year’s Ryder Cup in the sense that they know the Celtic Manor Wales Resort course very well. Most of them played over it just this past June. 5 of the European Tour’s 12 Ryder Cup Team members finished in the Top 12 at this past June’s match at the Celtic Manor Wales Resort. Graeme McDowell won the tournament.

Luke Donald finished 3rd. Edoardo Molinari finished 4th. Miguel Angel Jimenez finished 8th and Martin Kaymer finished in 12th place.

Analysis: Like I wrote over, the golf odds give too much respect to the American contingent to win this year’s Ryder Cup. First of all, there isn’t a single American player that has proven capable of playing stream over the type of course that they’ll face in Newport Wales. The Yanks are going to receive to play better than well in postulate to take down the Euros in the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Graeme McDowell attempt a 15-under to win the Celtic Manor Wales Open this past June. Luke Donald shot a 10-under and Edoardo Molinari shot a 9-under. The Euros know the route very expressively.

Golf Betting – Who Will Be the Top American?

Oct 01 2010 in Golf

Golf Betting

Golf bettors know that it doesn’t really make much of a difference whether a player automatically qualifies for the Ryder Cup or is chosen as a so-called "captain’s pick" or "wild card" admission, once they obtain on the course, and there are four players vying to be the top wild card on the U.S. squadron. Of the four wilderness cards selected near Corey Pavin, captain of the U.S. team, three are prehistoric major championship winners and the other is a non-winner. So the Americans make be well-fortified some time ago they get to Wales. Of path, this category includes Tiger Woods, who has won 14 majors, so it is naturally going to be one that is of interest to many golf bettors, and among those who were chosen for the team in this fashion, he is the favorite to score the most points, at -150.

Top American Intractable Card

Tiger Woods                            -150
Stewart Cink                 +300
Zach Johnson              +350
Rickie Fowler               +500

TIGER WOODS (the -150 golf betting favorite) was obviously the most controversial of these selections,. for his recent performances as well as the distrust that Pavin stirred up himself as the difficulty of Woods’ worthiness. You don’t go into a competition like this and leave behind someone who is the victor of fourteen majors and the world’s current #1-ranked sportswoman. It’s clear that this is someone who knows how to perform under pressure, although it has been a special challenge for him to deal with the pressure that he scarce created, through the exposure of his animal escapades. Some people may be surprised to learn that Tiger has a Ryder Cup memorandum that is under the .500 mark (10-13-2), so I wouldn’t look upon him as an automatic by any means.

STEWART CINK (+300 in golf betting) is on the team for a few reasons, one of which is that he was the winner of a bigger for the first time last year – the British Open, where he circuit out a shocking contender, Tom Watson, in a playoff. Cink, who is 37 years old, had gotten close in some majors in the past, finishing in the top three on three different occasions, and he’s managed six wins on the tour. He is no stranger to the Ryder Cup, having made appearances in the last four. Cink may also be tweeting from the Ryder Cup matches, if he is not too nervous to do so; he has from a million followers, and that, reportedly, is more than anybody. He has posted a top 20 completion in four of his last five tournament events, and is currently ranked 35th in the fantastic. He’s 35th in total driving and 48th in driving distance.

ZACH JOHNSON (+350 in Ryder Cup golf betting), the 34-year-old Drake graduate, was the protector of the 2007 Masters. He’s had only two other top ten finishes in majors, and ranks 19th in the world. He won at Colonial and tied for third at the PGA Championship, and is coming off a top-ten result at the Tour Championship. Johnson played in the 2006 Ryder Cup, winsome a four-ball match while paired with Scott Verplank, losing one with Stewart Cink, halving another match with Chad Campbell as his accomplice, and losing his singles competition to Darren Clarke. He’s currently fifth on the tour in putting mediocre, and eleventh in driving accuracy.

Ryder Cup Betting – Who Gets the Bet – Europe or USA?

Oct 01 2010 in Golf

Golf Betting

Golf bettors become Ryder Cup bettors this week. It’s that base. It is the biggest event this week in golf, and the most significant for the rest of the year, after the majors and the FedEx Cup is over. As you probably know, the Ryder Cup is conducted between teams from the USA and Europe, and is held every two years, alternating between here and there. This year it’s being held at the Celtic Manor Reserve in Newport, Wales, and will begin Friday, ending Sunday. In the Ryder Cup betting odds, the European team is listed as the -170 golf betting favorite, with the USA team posted at +160 odds, and the tie at +1000.  You can catch all of the Ryder Cup the action on NBC.

Ryder Cup Betting – Odds to Convert
Europe             -170
USA    +160
Tie       +1000

The captain’s picks for the USA are supposed to be significant, but anyone who is going to engage in Ryder Cup betting this week has to acknowledge that Tiger Woods, the world’s #1 player, has a 10-13-2 record in the result, and Stewart Cink, matrix year’s British Show champion who was also added by captain Corey Pavin, has a 4-7-4 diary (geez, this sounds like hockey already).

The consensus on the part of many Ryder Cup bettors I possess talked to who favor the underdog USA party is that the "wildcard" picks that were made generally European captain Colin Montgomerie were not wise, to about the least. Passing over the likes of Paul Casey and Justin Rose, two of the best players in the world, may not have been the wisest item in the world, although I would say that Luke Donald (who is +120 to be the top Euro wildcard in golf betting) couldn’t have possibly been left off. As for Edoardo Molinari or Padraig Harrington, they have on the agenda c trick a few things active for them, but possibly not enough.

is there a "home field advantage" to be had here? Well, many of the wizard observers think so, especially as it may affect the "rookie" players here (i.e., those who have not played in a Ryder Cup before). Let’s remember also that the European players are probably more accustomed to playing on this breed of class. A lot of the USA players were in the Tour Championship last week (and not many of them were showing good form), while the Europeans were spending a bit more time getting prepare specifically for this.

When I look at this from a Ryder Cup betting standpoint, I look at the European troupe as one that is strong enough to the extent where a guy like Casey could be left off it. That’s strong indeed. Unflinching, Tiger Woods is well-informed at this sort of thing, but in the big double (that is, the won-lost record), it hasn’t made a big difference, has it? Plus, there are rumblings that he hasn’t prepared for this thing as diligently as he should. The USA duo has won only one time in Europe since 1981. The front line talent in Europe can’t be denied, when you procure the likes of Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, and Martin Kaymer, fresh idle a win in the last greater, and I’ve just got to give them the edge, although I can’t make this a immense play because the Ryder Cup betting odds are not that appetizing.

Ryder Cup Betting – Top American Rookie

Sep 30 2010 in Golf

Golf Betting

Yes, Ryder Cup bettors, there is a rookie of the year, of sorts, that comes out of the Ryder Cup, but only we award it, including a prop, so who inclination get the rookie award with a view the U.S.? Of course, this category includes only those players who eat not under any condition played in a Ryder Cup anterior to, so we’ve got none of that kind of history to draw on, nor is there a lot of match play twisted the careers of these players since they were amateurs. What we can claim is that these are all pretty under age guys and they represent some of the best players on tour, so it should be a spirited tournament. Don’t they get a plaque or something? A BetUS T-shirt maybe? The Ryder Cup betting favorites in this category are Dustin Johnson, the near-miss at the PGA Championship, and Matt Kuchar, who led in FedEx Cup points going into the Tour Championship, at +200. Play in the Ryder Cup begins on October 1 (Friday) at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.

Dustin Johnson            +200
Matt Kuchar                  +200
Rickie Fowler               +300
Bubba Watson              +400
Jeff Overton                 +500

Dustin Johnson (the +200 co-favorite in Ryder Cup betting) has shot over par in only harmonious of his last seven tournaments. He was not clever to keep his streak going at the Tour Championship, where, despite a final round of 66, he still finished 3-over par. With seven choicest tens this year, and the mental toughness that allows him to bounce back again and again, he certainly has adequate credentials to be considered as substantial as anyone else in this proposition. Or does he?……..

Matt Kuchar (Johnson’s co-favorite at +200 in Ryder Cup betting) is on the verge of breaking into the top ten in the Unbending Crowd Golf Rankings. Kuchar is tops on voyage in scoring average, All-Around Ranking, and specie winnings, and finished second in FedEx Cup points. If he had done a little recovered in the majors, he may have had a good opportunity to win Gambler of the Year honors.

Can Rickie Fowler (+300 in Ryder Cup betting) get his game together? He’s in his first unshortened year as a professional, and has not shown the kind of form that would label him a strong contender, precise in this small field. Fowler has whirl resolutely in the 70s over the last month and a half, finishing better than 36th only once in his eventually eight events. Starting with a missed cut at the AT&T National, he’s shot an aggregate of two all about par, and after tying for 58th at the PGA, he had a lousy FedEx Cup playoffs, starting with a tie for 36th at The Barclays and ending with 45th at the BMW and elimination. Could someone this possibly be at his best – indeed, be THE best – when the pressure is supposedly the greatest, at the Ryder Cup? It would be hard to see that.

Bubba Watson (+300 in Ryder Cup betting in this category), who was one of the automatic qualifiers, has been in the top three on four occasions, alluring the Travelers Championship and getting oh so close at the PGA Championship, where he lost in a playoff. Unfortunately, that was Watson’s no greater than finish in the top 15 in his last events. Of course, he booms it off the tee, ranking second on tour in distance, and he is also sixth in All-Around Ranking and 18th in scoring.

Three Irish players see fit tee-off at the Ryder Cup this weekend:  Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Padraig Harrington.  Four Englishman will tee-off at the Ryder Cup this weekend:  Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher.

Let’s take a look at the man from each golf wagering category that’s the best golf put to be the Outstrip Irish and Top English golfer for this weekend’s Ryder Cup!

Ryder Cup 2010:  Top Irish and Top Englishman

**There are two separate betting categories, Top Irish and Cover Englishman, in the golf sportsbook

Where:  The Celtic Manor Remedy have recourse to, City of Newport, Wales
When:  October 1st thru 3rd, 2010
Par/Yardage:  Par 71, Yards 7378
TV:  ESPN, ESPN2, NBC

Top Irish

Best Bet:  Graeme McDowell +150

McDowell hadn’t scored a Top 10 finish in 5 straight tournaments started since winning the Celtic Manor Wales Unfasten and the U.S. Bare back to cast off in June, but he appears to have found his swing after finishing 3rd at the Austrian Unincumbered on Sept. 19th.  When it comes to match play, Graeme is as substantial as they come.  At the 2008 Ryder Cup, Graeme McDowell won 2, lost 1 and halved 1 in 4 total matches.  For the Vivendi Trophy, McDowell he won 6 out of 9 matches, losing 2, and halving the other.  At the Royal Trophy, McDowell won all 3 of this matches.  He also knows the Celtic Manor Resort course improve than anybody having shot a 15-under over it benefit of the Celtic Manor Wales victory.

Other Irish

Rory McIlroy +100 – - This bequeath be McIlory’s first Ryder Cup but he did tie for 5th at both the 2009 WGC-Accenture Match Play Tournament and the 2009 Volvo World Match Play Championship.  He also won 4 out of his 5 matches at the 2009 Vivendi Trophy.

Padraig Harrington +200 – - This will be Paddy’s 6th Ryder Cup.  His overall record is 7 victories, 11 losses, and 3 halves in 21 matches.  He hasn’t had the greatest of 2010’s.  So, I’m going to say he’s literally a golf bet underlay at +200 to be the Top Irish at this year’s Ryder Cup.

Beat Englishman

Best Risk Ian Poulter +220

If Ian could play in a match play aspect for every tournament he entered, he’d do it.  The 2010 WGC-Accenture Measure up to Play champ finished 20th or better one once in his last 6 tournaments played on the European Tour, that was an 18th at the Alstom Open de France in July, but the Ryder Cup format is perfect for him.  This inclination be Poulter’s 3rd Ryder Cup.  He’s been sensational with 5 victories and only 2 losses in 7 matches.  His Vivendi Trophy record isn’t that stellar, 4 victories, 3 defeats and 3 halves in 10 matches, but he’s noiselessness the best golf bet in the Top Englishman category because there’s no doubt that he’s prosperous to step it up against the Yanks.

Other Englishmen

Lee Westwood +180 – - Lee’s been suffering through some injuries this year.  So, taking shoddy odds on him in this heading capacity not be wise even though he’s the most experienced, this wishes be his 7th Ryder Cup, member of the European Team.

Terrific golf odds on both Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell make them the Top European Collaborate Points Scorers for this weekend’s Ryder Cup.

The favorites to be the top point scorers for the Ryder Cup from Cooperate Europe are Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy.  Although both Westwood and McIlroy have a shot to be points gurus on their team, there are specific facts at all events Poulter and McDowell that make them the best bib bets in this wagering category.

Let’s take a look at the get the better of bets, based on the golf odds, and the best underdog bet to be the Top Euro at the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Ryder Cup 2010:  Top Team Points Scorer

Where:  The Celtic Manor Retreat, City of Newport, Wales

When:  October 1st thru 3rd, 2010

Par/Yardage:  Par 71, Yards 7378

TV:  ESPN, ESPN2, NBC

Europe

Best Bet A:  Ian Poulter +700

Not only did Ian win the 2010 WGC-Accenture Match Play Tournament but he’s also got an excellent Ryder Cup record.  Poulter has played in 2 Ryder Cups winning 5 out of 7 matches with 2 losses and no halves.  He simply loves the match play design and has been preparing for this since pretty much the WGC-Accenture victory way to in February.  At the golf odds, there are few as attractive in this category as Ian Poulter.

Best Bet B:  Graeme McDowell +600

The 2010 U.S. Spacious winner proved that he’s back in his best form after finishing 3rd at the Austrian Open in his last start on the European Tour.  Graeme’s ability to play his best over the Celtic Manor Resort course is unquestioned as he shot a 15-under when taking the tournament going away in the spring earlier this year.  McDowell is going to be a tough, tough man to beat in this wagering category given his past news over the course and the fact that he’s had a breakout year in 2010.  Poulter, the golf odds are better than nice.

Worst Golf Bet:  Lee Westwood +500

Westwood could easily be the outstrip golfer on the European Team at the Ryder Cup, no irresolution, but he’s been suffering through injury issues this year and his Ryder Cup record, 14 wins out of 29 tournaments with 10 losses doesn’t instill a whole lot of self-reliance.

Richest Underdog Bet:  Ross Fisher +1200

Fisher’s ability to play well in a matchup format tournament makes him the clear underdog to lay to be the Top European Sense Scorer at this weekend’s Ryder Cup.  Ross won the Volvo World Match Play Championship in 2009.  That same year, he ended up tied for 4th at the WGC-Accenture.  Earlier this year, Ross took home the Irish Unrestrained trophy.  At the golf odds, he’s the explicate underdog to back on the Euro side when it comes to points.

Others To Consider

Rory McIlroy +500 – - Rory has already proven adept at the match play format.  He’s also determined to prove that he belongs in the discussion as one of the best golfers in the world.  He’s a better wager than Lee but the odds are undisturbed on the low side, extent.

Where: The Celtic Manor Resort, City of Newport, Wales

When: October 1st thru 3rd, 2010

Par/Yardage: Equal 71, Yards 7378

TV: ESPN, ESPN2, NBC

Top European Rookie

Best Bet: Ross Fisher +500

Sometimes, a golf handicapper has to unmistakably back the guy going off at the best odds with the most artistically try of scoring profits. In this anyhow, the golfer going below average at the best odds with the best chance of scoring profits in the Top European Rookie golf betting category is Ross Fisher.

The other 5 betting options in this category are very themselves golfers. Martin Kaymer, in regard to instance, won the PGA Championship, but Kaymer is thriving off at half the odds of Fisher, +250 to Fisher’s +500, making Fisher the better bet.

Not counting winning the Irish Unbolt earlier this year, Fisher won the Volvo Match Play Championship in 2009 and finished 5th at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Tournament in 2009. He knows the Ryder Cup match deprecate format properly and won’t buckle under the pressure. He’s the pick in this category.

Other European Rookies

Rory McIlroy +200 – - He won 4 out of his 5 matches at the 2009 Vivendi Trophy and that’s a positive but the odds are awfully coarse on him to be the top dog in this golf betting head.

Martin Kaymer +250 – – The 2010 PGA Champ hasn’t proven to be a weather-beaten match play golfer tied 17th place finishes at the WGC-Accenture in both 2009 and 2010.

Edoardo Molinari +400 – - His 33rd at the WGC-Accenture earlier this year definitely makes him an underlay at those odds.

Francesco Molinari +400 – - His 3 and 2 Vivendi Trophy record pass of 5 matches means that he might have a shot in this golf betting category.

Peter Hanson +1000 – – Peter finished 9th at the 2009 WGC-Accenture but has a 4 victory, 7 ruin and 3 halved Vivendi Trophy record. Still, at those double-digit odds, he’s wroth a look to be the crush Euro rookie.

Incomparable American Rookie

Best Bet: Dustin Johnson +200

I hate to go chalky, but DJ is “Mr. Cool” on the PGA Tour suited for a reason. His mistake at the PGA Championship in August might have ended some players’ careers but DJ picked recherch up a week later finishing 9th at The Barclays and then winning the BMW Championship two weeks after The Barclays.

Golf bettors know that the event that is going to get the lion’s share out of attention this week is the Ryder Cup, but how big a deal is it remarkably? The answer, for this spectacle that takes place Friday through Sunday at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales, is that it is one of the great golf betting events. And speaking of betting, the European team is listed as the -170 golf betting favorite, with the USA team posted at +160 odds, and the tie at +1000.  You can catch the action on NBC.

I don’t know how many golf bettors have read the large book by John Feinstein, "A Good Walk Spoiled," which takes the reader washing ones hands of a year on the PGA Tour. The book begins with a Ryder Cup match, and the way Feinstein describes it, and just so the way the players he interviews narrate it, the Ryder Cup provides more pressure than anything in golf, and that may include the majors. I think it was Davis Love III who described it as "The only time your legs ever shake."

I’m not sure the way a lot of golf bettors feel about it, but somehow I command myself having a hard nevertheless getting my arms around something like that. I’m sure part of it has to do with the fact that I have never teed it up in a Ryder Cup. I’m confident that there is something admirable, even noble, about playing for one’s wilderness, but let’s face it – there is not a whole lot of sublime vein to a Ryder Cup match. And frankly, when I hear stories about it, I fascination if there isn’t a lot of gamesmanship and "competition" attached to these stories that isn’t just a bit manufactured.

I am not desolate in thinking this velocity; there are a masses of players who feel it’s not that big a understanding large, and one of them, former British Open champion Todd Hamilton, recently created some waves with his remarks that he never looked at it as something he till the cows come home aspired to participate in, and that the people in Europe (who I’m sure will do a lot of golf betting on this a given were a bit too obsessed with it.

I don’t know if this the fulfillment of a fantasy for some of these guys or not; maybe, having concentrated on an individual sport for so long,  they everlastingly thought what a lessen thing it would be if they could be part of a team. Possibly it’s just a refreshing change from what is encountered on the rest of the tour, with the make of camaraderie that can’t be set up anywhere else in golf. If that’s what they’re looking for, God supply ‘em.

Yes, there is a lot of tradition associated with the Ryder Cup, which has been in continuance since 1927. Of course, if there was that much tradition, they wouldn’t have changed it from a competition between the USA and the British/Irish span to one where the Americans play against a team from all of Europe (which is the -170 golf betting favorite).
