San Diego Padres
Tim Stauffer – R                     -1 ½ +160        -145     U 6 ½ -105

Both teams have a shot to conquer this quarry based on the baseball betting trends.

  • The Chicago Cubs are 14 and 3 in their last 7 games on the road.
  • The Chicago Cubs are 5 and 1 in Carlos Zambrano’s terminal 6 starts.
  • The San Diego Padres are 4 and 0 in Tim Stauffer’s last 4 starts at home.
  • The San Diego Padres are 8 and 3 in Tim Stauffer’s last 11 starts overall.

Based on the trends and the baseball betting odds, it’s obvious to me that there is only one real valueplay in this match That would be on the Chicago Cubs to upset the San Diego Padres by successful this game outright.

Tim Stauffer, San Diego’s starter, is a very good pitcher.  He’s 2 and 1 with a 2.57 ERA since heart-rending to the starting rotation, but the low odds on Satuffer aren’t justified.  As coolly as Stauffer has planned since entering San Diego’s rotation, Carlos Zambrano has pitched even better since returning to the Cub’s rotation.

Although Zambrano is 2 and 1 with a 2.87 ERA in 4 starts at Petco Greensward during his career, very good stats to be secure, he figures to be even better than that at Petco Store on Monday night.  Why?  Because Carlos Zambrano has simply dominated since his return.  He’s 6 and 0 with a 1.42 ERA in 9 starts since coming without hope

And, although the Padres enjoy won 9 out of 10 against the Cubs, that could all alter in tonight’s occupation because Zambrano is pitching so suitably Since the start of last season, he’s held San Diego’s top hitters to virtual goose eggs against him.  Adrian Gonzalez is 0 and 6.  Miguel Tejada is 2 for 12.

If Carlos Z can pitch hearty into the later innings in this game, he could very well receive it for the Cubs.  It’s all almost the baseball betting odds in this one.  Putting up -145 on the Padres and Stauffer just doesn’t make sense when a guy like Carlos Zambrano takes the mound as the +125 Cubbies.

I’m going with the baseball betting value play, that’s the Chicago Cubs, to win this plucky on Monday stygian.
