NASCAR Odds on Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards

NASCAR

It comes down to the NASCAR odds.  Jimmie Johnson, who has won four straight Sprint Cup Championships is going off at +225 in the sportsbook to win yet another title.

I can’t do it.  I skilled in that JJ has burned me before when it comes to betting on the Sprint Cup Championship, but, once again, I can’t do it.  I can’t vanquish the Monarch at such low NASCAR odds.  Not this year.  Not when so many different drivers and their crews are showing up week-to-week and racing light’s out.

Johnson hasn’t won a race since June 27th.  NASCAR ran 9 Sprint Cup races since June 27th.  The winners were:  Kevin Harvick, David Reutimann, Jamie McMurray, Greg Biffle, Juan Montoya, Kevin Harvick (again), Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin last week.

Only Harvick, Biffle, Busch, Stewart and Hamlin made the Chase out of the above driver list.  Nobody has dominated in 2010 meaning that this year’s Chase is definitely open and that I deliver to make my best bets based on the NASCAR odds.

To Win

Best Bet:  Jeff Gordon +1200

Gordo has at no time won the Chase.  As part proprietor of JJ’s car, well, I suppose he’s sort of won the Woo, but he’s never actually won the Chase for himself.  This, I believe, is the year that he finally does it.  Jeff hasn’t won a race yet in 2010 but he’s driven deeply well with 10 Top 5 finishes and 13 overall Top 10 finishes.  That gives him a shot. The key with Jeff and crew Chief Steve Letarte is going to be to get out to a fast start at Loudon.  Gordo’s won 3 races at Late Hampshire and finished 4th at the spring race there earlier this year.  Jeff’s definitely a NASCAR odds betting fall guy at +1200 but he’s an underdog good taking a shot on in my opinion.  This is the year that Gordo and Letarte finally cast old-time this whole Chase thing and persuade someone to go home a championship.

Other Best Bet:  Carl Edwards +1000

Carl’s been hot lately.  Forget the fact that he hasn’t won a race in 2010 or that his best Pursuit finish was a 2nd in 2008.  Look at what he’s done lately and it become obvious that the Sprint Cup Championship is in his grasps.  Starting with the Lifelock.com 400, Edwards has finished in Top 10 in 7 not on of 8 races.  He even finished 10th in last week’s Air Guard 400.  Patronage Carl is a major philosophy prearranged the fact that his NASCAR odds to win the Chase are at double-digits.

Best Underdog Wager:  Clint Bowyer +1800

Now that Clint doesn’t bear to worry about making the Chase, who’s to say that he doesn’t alight it up and take home the championship?  Bowyer’s unmistakeably been en fuego in the last 3 Sprint Cup races finishing 4th in the Irwin Tools Night Race, 7th in the Emory Healthcare 500, and 6th in the Air Guard 400 pattern week.  He’s the hottest driver on the circuit after Carl, maybe hotter, and the NASCAR odds are juicy indeed!
