We’re four weeks in and starting Week 5 with the top-six team rankings unchanged in the College Football Power Poll rankings. The numbers may not have changed, but some teams are casting doubt and losing luster.

Teams taking a hit in perception but not demoted in ranking yet this week include TCU, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. These teams all appeared to be playing below their ranking last week.

One more week of that nearby these teams and they will likely end up in a loss or will definitely result in a demotion or omission from the College Football Power Poll Rankings.

There are also some wild cards undefeated that we’ll find out about now that the ESSENTIAL seal has been broken by AA – Alabama and Arkansas. Bama is not unstoppable. This gives trust to all the mortal colleges out there.

Auburn made the biggest hit hard up the scale, seven spots to #11 after defeating 13th ranked South Carolina 35-27 to go 4-0. They say everything is big in Texas, and this week they had the biggest drop in the rankings universal from 7 to 18 after getting destroyed beside UCLA 34-12.

Ryan Mallet and Arkansas looked like National Champions for 3 quarters. Alabama snatched that away from them in the final and most important quarter. That’s what champions do. They find a road to win, and they NEVER give up.

I’m not steadfast if Florida was avenging the last two Kentucky wins in Gainesville or if they are actually that much better than I thought they were. Either way, we’ll find out this week when they travel to Alabama.

The MWC (Mountain West Conference) seems to be much stronger than in preceding years, with numerous teams in or hovering below the Top 25 College Football Power Poll Ratings.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) seems to be the strongest conference after this week’s showing by Florida and Auburn, putting five teams in the Top 12. The Socking 12 had a slur edge before this, but that edge has crumbled no more than like their Texas-owned conference is.

There were three teams that dropped out of the College Football Power Poll in Week 5. They were West Virginia after a disadvantage to LSU, Oklahoma State on an idle week and Air Force after almost losing to Wyoming.

Florida Shape was the highest debut at No. 20 after avenging Wake Forest’s last two upsets in Tallahassee 31-0. Unbeaten Big 10 member Michigan Stately entered at 23, and I begrudgingly added USC at the 25 spot, shrewd they won’t be there long.

These College Football Rankings are based on Power. They don’t deliver mascots, colors or hottest girls into emolument or Arizona State University would be way up there.
