The success or insolvency of the Hawkeyes on Saturday night very robust could position on the right arm of Ricky Stanzi. No, Stanzi’s numbers aren’t all that flashy, but neither are the numbers for the Iowa offense on a regular basis. The team has done just enough to post relatively impressive victories this year, dropping 35 on the Iowa State Cyclones and 37 on the Eastern Illinois Panthers.

Stanzi is completing 70.7 percent of his passes for 433 yards, averaging 10.6 yards per shot at while throwing three TD passes and having all getting picked off.

The defense is where Iowa has been making a living the last two seasons. This unit might have graduated some real stars last year, but that isn’t holding the Hawkeyes back any. Iowa is limiting foes to just 216.0 yards per game and has conceded just one TD through two games.

Arizona has yet to concede a TD this year, though. The only legitimate scores against this ‘D’ came in the form of two field goals last week against the Citadel Bulldogs.

The Wildcats already have a forceful offense, led by Nick Foles under center. Infrequent quarterbacks in the game can say that they are averaging completing 83.1 percent of their passes, even just two games into the seasoned. A 3/2 TD/INT ratio needs to be improved, but averaging 9.7 yards per attempt and throwing for 574 yards in two games is nothing to be red-faced of.

Last year, Arizona only obsessed the ball for 22:04 and turned it over once. Foles not completed 6-of-11 passes for 55 yards and a TD. Numbers like that obviously won’t cut it again.

NCAA Football Insider Tip : Stanzi has never been defeated in a game in which he both started and finished in his collegiate bolt.

That’s one heck of a statistic. Normally speaking, we’d be giving the nod to the home team here, but there is something close to this Iowa rig that is calling us. The Hawkeyes found ways to win games in Happy Valley and in Camp Randall last year, and had Stanzi been vigorous, they would’ve all things considered gone into the Horseshoe and beaten Ohio State as well. There’s just too much prospering for Iowa for it to get beaten, especially with a proper unintentionally at the National Championship within elude.
