The Philadelphia Eagles command start Michael Vick against the New York Jets and based on the play of projected starter Kevin Kolb in the first three preseason games, a good game by Vick could force the Philadelphia faithful calling for Kevin Kolb to take the bench when the season begins.
Kevin Kolb has a 63.7 passer rating and is without a touchdown on the preseason. It’s not a good sign during the Eagles supposed quarterback of the future. Against the Chiefs, Kolb threw just 103 yards and an interception. The Eagles contentious line let Kolb take four sacks.
Michael Vick hasn’t been much better than Kolb in limited preseason deportment; he’s thrown 133 yards and has a quarterback rating of 33.7. Despite the poor have a good time, Vick gives people desire that he’ll recapture the wit he had before going to prison. All those Eagles fans that were calling for the end of the McNabb age for the past X number of years could be wishing they had Donovan McNabb back.
Rookie Mike Kafka will amuse oneself with b consider the second half for the Eagles.
The Jets are still without their most outstanding defensive player, as Derrelle Revis is still looking for a bigger constrict and with the regular season only 13 days away, fans are getting nervous. Revis effectively shut down opponents passing last season and while the Jets brought in Antonio Cromartie to be the second corner, Cromartie hasn’t given the Jets what they need as the horde one.
To enhance the problem by reason of the Jets defense is that they lost linebacker Calvin Pace with a broken foot this week. Pace is a big hole to top off as he led the Jets at season with eight sacks, despite missing the senior four games of 2009 on violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Even without Pace and Revis, the Jets defense should be good enough to shut down the Eagles offense. The Eagles first team offense has been lackluster and even though the second team has won two games for the Eagles this preseason, it won’t be plenty to rout the Jets, let alone coving the football spread.
