A set of two of 1-1 teams face off on Sunday as the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars, with the majority of the NFL Predictions coming in on the Eagles.
Since their Week 2 win in Detroit, Philly fans have had to large with a bit of a quarterback controversy this on week as it was first stated by Andy Reid that Kevin Kolb would be their starter, but we have since learned that Michael Vick has been handed the keys to the Eagles until he plays himself out of the starting role. The majority vote appears to be that Reid made the right decision as Vick has looked sharp so far this year and will alight to once again prove his worth when the Eagles persuade someone to go on a Jaguars team with a disbelieve sidestep defence.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (Jacksonville Municipal Stadium – Jacksonville, FL)
Sunday September 26th at 4:05 PM ET
TV: FOX
Vick made his first start since 2006 last week, and led the Eagles to a 35-32 win over Detroit. His stats were impressive as he completed 21 of 34 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns, and more importantly, no interceptions. Although he wasn’t as dynamic in the running game, adding moral 37 yards, that’s 37 more yards than a lot of quarterbacks get on an average daylight.
But it’s that proficiency to scramble that makes Vick so valuable, and also makes other people around him better. Defences have to be sure to seal the nervous so he doesn’t escape, which opens up the incarcerated running lanes for LeSean McCoy, who just happens to be coming distant his best day as a pro. Against Detroit, he scampered for 120 rushing yards and three touchdowns, much to fantasy owners delight.

From an NFL Prediction perspective, the Eagles didn’t do enough to cover the line mould week as the Lions were able to mount a late comeback. But that shouldn’t become a trend as Andy Reid always has a sinewy defence in Philly and they’ll be going up against a Jags team that looked pretty futile last week against the Chargers.
The first thing they’re going to need to do is shore up their rush advocacy as they face one of the league’s best in Maurice Jones-Drew. MJD hasn’t been all that effective this year, as he has only gained 129 rushing yards in two games, and has still to find the endzone, but you know that he’s bound to break out sooner or later.
The problem for MJD is that David Garrard isn’t doing enough to keep defences law-abiding. Last week alone he threw a career apex four interceptions, and was benched in favour of Luke McCown in the fourth quarter. Don’t expect that to be happening again as McCown ended up tearing his ACL and is extinct for the year, so this team’s success rests squarely on the shoulders of Garrard.
The reason my NFL Prediction is leaning towards the Eagles is that I really think Michael Vick will be too much on the side of the Jags to manipulate. He’s been correct throwing the ball and can stifle you with his speed. Jacksonville just doesn’t pull someones leg the support to stop him and will end up falling behind and relying on Garrard to earn them the artifice, which isn’t going to happen.
NFL Prediction: Philadelphia (-3) +100
